Adopt or foster
Give a wolfdog a home
Every wolfdog in our sanctuary deserves a forever family — or a foster home while they wait for one. Learn about our process and take the first step today.
How adoption works
We take our time to ensure every match is right for both the animal and the family. Our process is thorough because wolfdogs have unique needs.
Submit your inquiry
Fill out our inquiry form below. Tell us about your living situation, experience with dogs or wolfdogs, and which animal you're interested in.
Phone screening
A member of our team will call you within 5–7 business days to discuss your application and answer any questions you have about wolfdog ownership.
Home visit
We conduct an in-person home visit to assess your property, fencing, and environment. We'll also meet any existing pets in the household.
Meet your match
If approved, you'll visit the sanctuary to meet the animal. We facilitate multiple visits to ensure a genuine bond before placement.
Adoption agreement
We finalize the adoption with a signed agreement, adoption fee, and a comprehensive care packet to set you and your new companion up for success.
Adoption requirements
Secure outdoor enclosure
Minimum 6-foot privacy fencing with coyote rollers or a fully enclosed kennel run. Wolfdogs are expert escape artists.
Prior large-dog experience
Applicants must have documented experience owning and training large or giant breed dogs. First-time dog owners are not eligible.
Legal in your area
Wolfdog ownership is restricted or banned in some states and municipalities. You are responsible for verifying legality in your jurisdiction.
No young children
Due to the unpredictable nature of high-content wolfdogs, we do not place animals in homes with children under 12 years of age.
Time and commitment
Wolfdogs require significant daily enrichment, exercise, and socialization. They do not do well left alone for long periods.
Veterinary relationship
You must have an established relationship with a vet experienced in wolf-hybrid care, or be willing to establish one before adoption.
Foster a wolfdog
Not ready to adopt? Fostering is a vital part of our rescue mission. Foster families provide temporary homes while we find permanent placements — and sometimes fosters become forever homes.
